Dune: Part Two (2024)

Denis Villeneuve has truly cracked the code for bringing what was long considered an unadaptable sci-fi franchise to the big screen, with little to no flaws. Dune: Part Two directly follows Dune: Part One (2021), building upon the world established in the first film and effectively condensing years of story into the span of months within a single movie. There are no words to describe my viewing experience other than to call it the epitome of science fiction cinema.

Five Nights at Freddy’s (2023)

I’m a Five Nights at Freddy’s (FNAF) fan. I’ve played nearly all the games and watched walkthroughs for the ones I didn’t get the chance to play. Yet, despite the inclusion of Freddy and the crew, Five Nights at Freddy’s did not match nearly the level of fear I get playing the games, nor was it particularly great.

One Piece (2023)

After Netflix’s gigantic flop that was the live-action Cowboy Bebop, produced by the same studio, I had super low hopes for its take on One Piece. I couldn’t have been more wrong. One Piece is a masterclass in how to do a live-action anime adaptation the right way. While it may not reach the pinnacle of perfection, it certainly gets the job done.
